20/09 Seaduction delivered
The boat was to be hauled out of the water in MacKay and after getting in touch with Brett from Sunsail; we were informed that it was not necessary to continue on to Hamilton. Apparently this was the plan all along. So nice of them to let the crew know! Hell, we had made all travel arrangements from Hamilton and quite honestly were looking forward to sailing the Whitsundays.
So, Brett had to hire a car and drive us to Airlie Beach, only an hour away by car, where we caught the ferry across to Hamilton Island. It was quite jarring to be moving across the water at such speeds given that we’d achieved an average of 6,7kts in the last 4 months! In Hamilton, Sunsail put us up in one of their yachts that were not on charter for the night before we flew out to Hong Kong. Hrmph! Frankly, given the state of their boats, I do not appreciate Brett being so blaze about the state of our immaculate ‘Seaduction’. Especially given that we’d just crossed 2 oceans on her. That’s what she’s to be christened, by the way, ‘Seaduction’. Hahaha, gotta love it.

They boys and I said good bye to Nicole in Hamilton, she flew home to Adelaide (or thereabouts) and got on a plane home. We flew over the Great Barrier Reef on our way to Hong Kong before making our way to JHB. It was breath taking. In Hong Kong, I nearly missed my connection. Dear Div, made a sterling effort to ensure they didn’t leave without me. Those Chinese are awful strict and I got a stern talking to by a very headmistress-like stewardess. Johann was not impressed. Aah well, we all made it home, together.
Boys, I miss you tons. You taught me a lot and thank you both for a wonderful trip! I love you!
